Hello
and welcome to Josha Livestock. We are Joe and Shauna Cline from Johnstown
a small town in central Ohio. We started raising goats in 1992 with
Alpine dairy goats as a 4-H project for our son. We got into the Nigerian
Dwarves in 1998 and then came the Boers in 2000. Since our son is grown
and is out on his own we have chosen to simplify a bit. When we moved
to our current home in 2003 we made the decision to no longer raise
Alpines and to concentrate on the Boers and Nigerian Dwarves.
I
( Shauna) have just started a new venture of making and selling homemade
and hand poured soy candles. I love candles and after a friend had given
me a votive size soy candle as a gift, I decided I really liked the
way it smelled, and burned so decided to try my hand at making them.
I made my first batch and shared them with friends and family and found
they enjoyed them as much as I. I then decided I might be able to support
my candle making habit by selling a few and that is how my new business
was started.
I
have always tried to keep things as natural as possible when raising
our goats using medications only as necessary and treating with the
most natural medications as possible. I have applied this same natural
philosophy with my candles. I use wax made with pure100% natural soybeans,
cotton wicks, and choice fragrances. Please take a look around our website
and contact us if you see something that interests you or if you have
any questions. Thanks for stopping by Josha Livestock.
With the rising cost of feeds and market slump we have unfortunately
found ourselves unable to continue to raise the Boer goats. We are going
to continue raising the Nigerian Dwarves for now as they are easy keepers
and a great source of milk for a small family plus we just love them!
There will be a breeding schedule posted and you can send me an e-mail
if you would like to be added to the list to be notified about kiddings.
Please read our sales policy.
I ( Shauna) am now going to focus more on my soy candle business
and have ventured into cosmetics a little bit with my lotion bars, sugar
scrubs, bath salts and will soon be adding lip balm too. I am working
on setting up a shop here at the farm and hope to have it ready before
winter and will post hours later on. It is the end of an era but also
a new beginning. I am excited to be working on something new so check
back often to see what we are offering. Thank you for your continued
support.
